‘Queen of Coast’ Jones complains over attack ad

LABOR’S Commonwealth Games Minister Kate Jones is on the warpath after a political ad attacking her used the event’s trademarked mascot.

She has written to the Gold Coast Games organising committee (GOLDOC) claiming LNP campaign director Lincoln Folo used mascot Borobi’s images without GOLDOC approval.

A flyer, authorised by L Folo, in letterboxes in her Cooper seat in Brisbane says Miss Jones is “never here” because she is more interested in “swanning around the Gold Coast”.

“Cooper deserves a local MP, not someone who thinks she is Queen of the Gold Coast,” the flyer says, featuring six photos of her at Coast events including one with star Chris Hemsworth and another with Borobi.

Two weeks ago GOLDOC ordered LNP’s Southport MP Rob Molhoek to remove an election sign featuring Borobi.
