‘Gun maker’ stands trial

A KINGSCLIFF man accused of manufacturing a submachine gun and three silencers has been committed to stand trial in the Southport District Court.

Robert Frank Donaci, who is on bail on a $25,000 surety, was yesterday committed to stand trial on four charges including unlawful possession of a weapon and manufacture of a weapon.

He has previously been linked to a large-scale underground weapons “factory” at Nerang.

Donaci will stand trial at a date yet to be set.
