Clean bill for white spot
BIOSECURITY Queensland has announced all prawn farms affected by white spot disease in the Logan River region have been decontaminated and are sitting empty.
They will remain that way until May 2018 as part of the strategy to eradicate the virus that causes white spot disease, the department said.
State-wide surveillance for the virus that causes white spot disease was completed in September with all samples returning negative results.
These results will contribute to the national proof of freedom surveillance required to regain international disease-free status for white spot disease.
