MARGARET’S LIFE ON WRITE TRACK

MARGARET Dupre is one of those unforgettable characters.

Famous for her itsy bitsy, string bikini, she was a fixture at most of the local events in the ’80s or zipping around town on her purple roadster.

Earlier this year Margaret’s daughter India came to town as part of the Gold Coast Film Festival to showcase Stripped, her short film about her unconventional mother and childhood.

The buzz about the film has now inspired Margaret to write a book about her colourful life which is in the pipeline to be published next year. Since you asked, she now lives in Hollywood and is still painting.
