Niccanova warms up

SMART four-year-old Niccanova starts his trek to a possible start on the rich Magic Millions day when he resumes the George Moore Stakes at Doomben on Saturday.

Niccanova was tagged as one of Queensland’s most promising horses when he won the Group 3 Fred Best Classic at Eagle Farm during the winter carnival.

But trainer Steve Tregea is hosing down his chances of resuming a winner in the George Moore Stakes on Saturday: “As long as he’s finishing the race off I will be happy.”

Niccanova is likely to chase a Magic Millions wildcard in The Buffering (1350m) at Doomben on December 30.
