WINNERS Darktown Strutter (Race 1)

Darktown Strutter was in a league of her own today. Punters snapped up the $2.50 (after deductions) early and she started evens. The 3YO filly jumped to the lead, pulled away early in the straight and brained them by almost five lengths.

Luna Missile (Race 6)

Luna Missile didn’t let a dislodged tooth interfere with his performance. There was a huge plunge on the 3YO gelding from the Guy stable, smashed from $5 in to $2.75. He fired out of the gates, was ridden hard to lead and just kept on going.

LOSERS

Calligrapher (Race 1)

There was plenty of money for Calligrapher ($2.40 in to $2.10) but it was a disappointing performance from the 3YO gelding. He never looking a winning chance after settling last in the small field and couldn’t pass another runner.

Personalised (Race 2)

It was a tough day at the office for Personalised. Punters were confident before the race, backing the 4YO mare from $3.80 in to $3.40. It was a brutal watch as she got squeezed, blocked, checked then badly over-raced, clipped heels and unsurprisingly finished second last. Completely forgive this run.

NEXT TIME

Emvepee (Race 7)

Punters were confident Emvepee would live up to his name and although he didn’t win, it was still a huge run. After settling midfield, Emvepee was shuffled back towards the tail approaching the turn. Once he saw daylight, he let down enormously to pinch second.

You Es Commander (Race 8)

You Es Commander was supported in Friday’s market but drifted alarmingly on the day from $8 out to $26. He found himself midfield from barrier one with very few options in the straight, so he stuck to the fence and finished powerfully to grab second place to Same Old.
