Thongs fail to impress

A PALM Beach man represented himself while wearing flip-flops as he faced charges for possessing cannabis and explosives in the Southport Magistrates Court yesterday.

Brody Ryan Drabble, 20, pleaded guilty to possessing drugs, paraphernalia and firecrackers after police searched his apartment on October 19.

The court heard police found the drugs in the right hand pocket of his trackpants during the search.

Mr Drabble said he was “sick of getting in trouble” as he faced the magistrate. He was fined a total of $950 for the three charges. No conviction was recorded.
