Riviera returns to Coast’s premier boat show

- RYAN KEEN

A GOLD Coast boat building giant absent from the city’s major boat show for almost a decade is returning.

Luxury manufacturer Riviera will be back on deck for next year’s 30th Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) in May, the Bulletin can reveal.

Riviera’s absence included the past few years when it played a key role organising and exhibiting at a rival Coomera-based event which piggybacked on the SCIBS dates.

The rival event has been axed and Riviera was among the first to sign up for SCIBS 2018. They will bring a multimillion dollar showcase to the four-day event including a world debut of a new model.

SCIBS general manager Johan Hasser said he was thrilled at Riviera’s return along with about 300 exhibitors for the May 24-27 show .

“We are excited to announce Australia’s renowned boating brand Riviera is back on board for the 30th anniversary,” Mr Hasser said.

“Riviera is a major force in the global marine industry and we are pleased to have them join a host of leading motor yacht brands.”

Having launched more than 5200 motor yachts during its 37-year history, Riviera’s display will represent the brand’s five distinctive and highly-awarded model collections – the SUV, Flybridge, Sports Motor Yacht, Sport Yacht and the yacht range.

Riviera owner and chairman Rodney Longhurst said the company was excited and proud to return to SCIBS.

“SCIBS is the premium boat show in Queensland and the entire Riviera family is looking forward to being back and playing a part of this world-class event.” Belize motor
