Fighting for approval

A MARTIAL arts studio which opened without council approval has moved to get its approval in order.

The Muay Thai centre, which operates out of an industrial estate on Ormeau’s Blanck St opened in 2016 without council approval and was issued a show-cause notice by city officers in March.

The operators have filed an application to change the use of the building to allow it to continue operating.

The fellow tenants of the building have given it their support, according to planning documents. A decision is expected within months.
