Drug driver fined $500

A GOLD Coast father has pleaded guilty to drug driving after he was pulled over by police almost two days after “smoking two joints on the Sunday afternoon”.

Jay Anthoney Markou, 41, was stopped for a roadside drug test by police in Palm Beach on October 24. Police detected cannabis in his saliva.

Yesterday in Southport Magistrates Court he was fined $500 and disqualified from driving for a month.
