FAMILY IN A CLASS OF THEIR OWN
THIS is one Gold Coast family that’s both sharing and caring.
Lou Rikard and her children Sydney and Brogan all graduated with Diploma of Nursing qualifications at the Convention Centre at Broadbeach yesterday.
Nineteen-year-old Brogan said it was very helpful having her mum and brother by her side while they completed their TAFE Queensland course together.
“It was good to have our own little study group. We practised on each other at home and used learning activities like flash cards and quizzes to get through assessments,” said Brogan.
Both Lou and Brogan are now working at Arcare Aged Care facilities.
All three plan to further their studies, with Lou and Brogan wanting to be midwives and Sydney aiming to become a registered nurse.
