THE Gold Coast could explode with a poisonous toad population this summer as wet weather creates perfect conditions for hatching cane toads.

Gabi Levay Please don’t put them straight into the freezer!!! It’ll be super painful. Leave them in the fridge for 24 hours then move them to the freezer

They also eat/ destroy frog eggs and then lay their own. So make sure you go for the big fat females if you can.

Go check your dog’s water bowls outside at nighttime, the cane toads actually sit in it. Have found cane toads on my patio away from my garden, sitting in my dog’s water bowl. Either elevate it if small bowl or use a deeper bucket for big dogs. The toads also come looking for your dog’s dry food if any outside.

Quick squirt with Detol, find the dehydrated corpse the next day and word must get around, I get less and less of them now.

We have to keep our dog inside because of these horrid things. Our yard has been infested for the last month with toads at night

First find your grandad’s hand me down golf clubs ... 2nd, practice your drive

Like the masses we saw at the park last week Emma Drew ... they’re DISGUSTING creatures and so dangerous to pets.

Katherine McCafferty

Shall not be going outside at night again.
