KESHA has been added to the sterling rollcall of artists heading to next year’s 29th annual Byron Bay Bluesfest at Tyagarah from March 29 to April 2.

Bluesfest director Peter Noble said Kesha was enjoying critical acclaim for her latest album, Rainbow, which saw her collaborate with artists as diverse as Ben Folds, Eagles of Death Metal and Dolly Parton.

“Kesha is on fire right now,” he said.

“I’m loving her album Rainbow and can’t wait to see what she’ll bring to the festival.”

The US Grammynominated star is one of several powerful women with stories to tell in Bluesfest’s third artist announcement, with All I Wanna Do singer Sheryl Crow and returning favourite Melissa Etheridge also joining the bill.

“These fantastic women (Crow and Etheridge) also have 12 Grammys between them and we know they’ll bring the house down,” Mr Noble said.

Rounding out the announcement are Colombian superstar Juanes, Brazilian musician Seu Jorge, Byron’s own Ziggy Alberts, Icelandic singer Asgeir, British singer guitarist Newton Faulkner, Afro Celt Sound System, Mysticssippi Blues Man Harry Manx, young guitar star Harts, Aussie band Holy Holy, folk rocker William Crighton and Scottish group Elephant Sessions.

“This is one of our most eclectic announcements ever,” Mr Noble said.
