A LEADING Melbourne talent agency has quietly opened its first Queensland office – on the Gold Coast.

Entertainment industry veterans Epic Talent Management have begun signing dancers, actors, models and influencers on the Coast for everything from film, TV and extras opportunities to promotional work, modelling, presenting and real estate and commercial campaigns on screen, online and in print.

Founder and director Cindy Chismon said the newly minted Coast business, based in Southport, included a dedicated Epic Jnr division for young talent from babies through to children aged 14.

Epic’s local signings so far include veteran radio presenter Richard Fowler.

“Melbourne and Sydney used to be the duopoly for TV and film but no longer,” Ms Chismon said.

“Certainly, a lot of commercials are shot out of Brisbane and the Coast.”

Epic has supplied talent for the film Undertow and TV series including Offspring, Wentworth, Dr Blake, Sisters and Next Gen (Romper Stomper).

“There are a lot of divas in this industry but we have zero tolerance for them,” Ms Chismon said.

“We don’t do attitude.” Epic’s roster of talent in Melbourne includes former cast members from Big Brother, Married at First Sight and Instant Hotel, with more reality TV favourites expected to join its books here on the Coast.

Epic will collaborate with Ben Parkinson Casting in Brisbane.

“We’re working on a huge, confidential project at the moment – a TV series that will shoot in Brisbane and surrounds next year,” Ms Chismon said.
