Wolfe Brothers return for CMC Music Awards

- SUZANNE SIMONOT

FARMERS turned music fan favourites The Wolfe Brothers will show off their Country Heart when they return to the Gold Coast in March to perform at the 8th Annual CMC Music Awards.

The trio and young US star Kelsea Ballerini, from Knoxville, Tennessee, will today be named as the first artists locked in to perform for a who’s who of country music when The McClymonts host the fan-voted awards at The Star Gold Coast on March 15.

“It’s really our favourite night of the year,” Tom Wolfe said. “With the international element and the awards being fan voted, it means a lot to us to be involved.

“While we’ve performed at the awards before with other acts; it’s going to be really great to do our own thing.”

The Wolfe Brothers – brothers Tom and Nick Wolfe and childhood friend Brodie Rainbird – have enjoyed a standout year.

One of the hottest live acts in the country, The Wolfe Brothers have released four albums and an EP since capturing the nation’s attention as the 2012 runners-up on Australia’s Got Talent.

“We put the work in this year,” Tom said. “We spent 150 days away from home.”

No strangers to the awards stage, The Wolfe Brothers were crowned New Oz Artist of the Year at the 2014 CMCs and Group or Duo of the Year in 2016 and have previously played the event with Lee Kernaghan and Adam Brand.

Tom said the trio would showcase a track from their next album, due out in March, at the 2018 awards.

Fans can buy tickets to the awards via ticketek.com.au, with more international and local artist performances to be announced in coming weeks.
