LOOK OUT FOR DELICIOUS FLAVOURS OF CHRISTMAS
CHRISTMAS flavoured ice cream exists and it’s everything we’ve wanted and more.
My Gelato Shop at Broadbeach has launched the three festive-inspired gelato flavours in time for the holidays.
There’s the Aussie Christmas Pudding with cherries, A Summer Christmas with an orange zest, choc chips and candy canes and the Panettone, a take on the traditional Italian Christmas dessert.
We sent Varsity Lakes brothers Josh, 12, and Jack Johnson, 11, on the arduous task of taste testing the new flavours and they learned two things: orange zest is delicious and you need to eat quickly in summer.
“I really liked the candy cane orange flavour because it was minty and refreshing,” Josh said.
“I think a lot of kids will like them because they’re Christmas flavoured and something a bit different.”
Jack, a Hillcrest Christian College student, said he preferred the Christmas Pudding flavour.
“It tasted just like a real Christmas pudding which was cool,” he said.
If you noticed an Italian influence on the flavours, it’s because My Gelato Shop owner Davide Lo Giudice is as Italian as they come and said his regular customers were excited about the launch of the Christmas-inspired treats.
“It is nice to have something special to offer customers just in time for Christmas,” Mr Lo Giudice said.
The flavours will only be available until Sunday.
