VOLUNTEERS AID CHARITY SUCCESS
ON Tuesday, Rutland Smith, the ebullient chairman of the Gold Coast Community Fund, will host the fund’s Christmas breakfast at QT Resort. Some charities have high administrative costs but Rutland is proud of the low overheads of the one he heads. “I’m proud to say that the GCCF is 100 per cent run by volunteers. (Our) costs … are minimal – government charges and small items – which means that well over 99 per cent of our funds goes to Gold Coasters in need,” he said.
