FISHING

-

Broadwater: Plenty of sand crabs around at the moment. In The Seaway there’s still some good jew fish and trevally getting caught. Still plenty of flathead in the northern Broadwater and in good numbers.

Jumpinpin: There’s still some tailor to be caught up there as well, most on the run-in tide. And there are some good jew are around at the Pin Bar.

Off shore: The spotty mackerel are being caught down at Mermaid Beach and Palm Beach Reef. There are little black marlin, a fair few have been caught in the past week, heading out to about 40-50 metres and trolling some little six inch skirted lures. There’s also wahoo and dolphin fish in that same sort of area.

Freshwater: Hinze Dam has been fishing well, just fish the point and the tree edges with spinner bates or early in the morning or late in the evening with surface lures
