Shed up in flames

FIREFIGHTERS extinguished a structural fire on a busy Gold Coast road early yesterday.

Just after 1am firefighters were called to a Southport garden shed which was “well alight”. Two crews were sent to Nerang St and Pohlman Rd to control the blaze.

A spokesman said there was significant damage to the shed but the fire did not spread to surrounding property.

A man was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene by paramedics. He was not taken to hospital.
