Hickmott may saddle up
DUAL Melbourne Cup winner Robert Hickmott has emerged as the likely caretaker trainer of John Sadler’s team at Caulfield as the latter serves a sixweek suspension.
Racing Victoria chief steward Terry Bailey said the deal had not been formally approved yet.
The trainer of Melbourne Cup winners Green Moon and Almandin for owner Lloyd Williams, Hickmott split with the stable last month.
Sadler, who preceded Hickmott at Williams’ Macedon Lodge, was outed on Monday for six weeks for misconduct towards stewards.
