Flo’s state send-off
LADY Flo Bjelke-Petersen will be farewelled at a state funeral in her small home town.
Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk confirmed yesterday she and Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull had offered the family a funeral or memorial service.
Lady Bjelke-Petersen’s son John thanked the government.
“Mum certainly deserves the recognition by that,” he said.
Mr Bjelke-Petersen said the service would be held at Kingaroy Town Hall, where his father’s funeral was also held. Lady Bjelke-Petersen died on Wednesday aged 97 as a result of complications from a fall.
