Longest day is here

-

A BURLEIGH psychic says we should all be beaming today with the summer solstice coinciding with what for many people is the last work day before the festive break.

Spiritualist Rose Smith of Absolute Soul Secrets, who came up with her business name after she dreamt Archangel Michael wrote it on her forehead, is encouraging all Gold Coasters to cram as much as possible into the extended golden hours. .

“The sun is about awareness and consciousness, so it allows us to have a clear headspace to tackle all of those ideas and challenges that have been sitting in the back of our mind over recent months,” she said.

Families can mark the longest day of the year by attending Christmas Carols at North Shore Park, North Shore Ave, Varsity Lakes. The carols start at 3pm and wrap up at 4.30pm. Prizes will be awarded for best dressed and entry is free.

The sun will rise today at 4.47am and set at 6.42pm.
