PARKING FRUSTRATIONS ON THE WATER AS WELL

-

I NEVER in a million years thought I’d say this but on Sunday I was praying there was a parking inspector around. Why? Well as you know it is the busiest time of the year for our waterways which in turn means our boat ramps are their busiest too.

At my local ramp there were no car parks vacant so one inconsiderate boatie simply parked his empty jet-ski trailer and car on the side of the ramp itself rendering the ramp unusable for bigger boats such as mine, and many others that arrived.

I waited for 40 minutes for the owner to return but in the end gave up and found an- other ramp. Unfortunately no parking officers arrived while I was there but an angry letter was stuck under the windscreen wiper of the offending jet-ski owner, wishing him merry Christmas, among other thing s can’t print.

Hopefully we all never negatively impact others with our actions over the Christmas break. On a positive how great was it to see so many families on the water recently.

Wavebreak island has been rocking with kids, dogs and barbecues. For those looking for a quieter spot to anchor for a day, head up to Jumpinpin, you won’t have it to yourself but it’ll be a lot less busy.
