Lynn set for Heat Big Bash

- MURRAY WENZEL

AFTER two false starts, bighitting star Chris Lynn is confident of returning to the Big Bash League when Brisbane Heat host Sydney Thunder at the Gabba tonight.

A two-time winner of the BBL’s player of the tournament, Lynn’s return after shoulder surgery has been de- layed thanks to a niggling hamstring strain. But the 27year-old is tipped to finally make the cut, with in-form Joe Burns (groin) also returning to the 13-man squad after missing the Heat’s last-start loss.

Burns injured himself during a knock of 50 from 27 balls in the Heat’s victorious BBL opener last Wednesday and the side stumbling without him and Lynn against the Melbourne Renegades on Saturday.

“It’s killing me to be honest; I’m not a great watcher of cricket. It’s hard sitting on the sideline,” he said.

“But I’m confident the body will hold together not just for the rest of the tournament, but for the future. “I haven’t had a great run the last four years.”
