KIDS TAP IN TO EC0-FRIENDLY WATER STATIONS

The Upper Coomera kids found one of 14 new drink refill stations across the city yesterday which council hopes will prevent thousands of disposable drink bottles from trashing our beaches.
Costing up to $10,000 a pop, the first station has been installed at Justins Park at Burleigh Heads, which the Priggs took full advantage of.
The remaining fountains will be installed at popular parks from Burleigh north to Coomera by February this year.
Mayor Tom Tate, who unveiled the new fountain yesterday, said he hoped it would help save both the environment and the hip pocket of residents.
“Australians spend way too much every year on bottled water,” Cr Tate said. “Tap water is the best choice for your health, environment and your hip pocket.”
Council said the program could be rolled out further across the city if it proved to be a success.
