A mix of small-scale swells keep surf heights running at 1 to 2ft at best across the region on Tuesday and Wednesday ahead of a minor rise in SSE/ SE windswell into the 2 to 3ft range from Thursday to Saturday. Expect light winds on Tuesday ahead of a southerly change on Wednesday, leading in a pattern of moderate to fresh S to SE winds into the end of the week.

TODAY

Minor ENE swell combined with distant South groundswel­l. Sets around 1ft+ exposed Qld beaches, grading to a slightly larger 1 - 2ft exposed northern NSW breaks and tiny inside the points and bays. WIND: Early light variable inshore before turning SE at 5 to 15 knots during the afternoon.

TOMORROW

Mix of slight ESE tradewind swell, minor NE swell and background S swell. Sets around 1 - 2ft along the most exposed open beaches, grading tiny inside the points and bays. WIND: Early light SSW tending SSE 15 to 20 knots during the afternoon.

THURSDAY

S windswell up to a junky 2ft+ across northern NSW south facing breaks, picking up to 2 to 3ft during the afternoon. Grading to 1 to 2ft exposed Qld beaches and tiny elsewhere. WIND: Early inshore SSW 10 to 15 knots tending SSE 15 to 20 knots during the afternoon.

FRIDAY

SSE windswell up to 2 to 3ft across northern NSW south facing breaks, grading to 1 to 2ft+ exposed Qld beaches and tiny inside the points and bays. WIND: Early S tending SE 12 to 18 knots during the afternoon.

SATURDAY

SE windswell up to 2 to 3ft exposed northern NSW and southern Qld breaks, grading to 1 to 2ft elsewhere and smaller again inside the points and bays. WIND: Early light SW to SSE tending SE to ESE 10 to 15 knots during the afternoon.
