Fullazaboot walks line

- MARK OBERHARDT

WEATHER permitting, Magic Millions 2YO Classic aspirant Fullazaboot is set to trial at the Sunshine Coast after trainer Stuart Kendrick elected to miss a run at Doomben.

Kendrick thought long and hard before scratching Fullazaboot from the Group 3 B.J. McLachlan Stakes at Doomben on Saturday.

Fullazaboot has earned $51,000 from a win and second and in an average year would be well and truly in the field for the Magic Millions 2YO Classic at the Gold Coast on January 13.

But there are several chances for horses to jump him in prizemoney at meetings in the next week.

“At the moment he remains in the field for the Millions and I think he should make the field but it was a calculated risk,” Kendrick said.

“But luckily we have the choice of two lots of trials at the Sunshine Coast on Tuesday and Deagon on Thursday.

“We will just have to watch the weather.”

Kendrick is noted for his eye for a horse and paid $90,000 for Fullazaboot.

“He is good looking. He has strong bloodlines. His halfbrother D’Argento has won a couple of races in good fashion,” he said.

Fullazaboot is by Group 1 winner Sepoy out of the Listed race winner Fulazz who won the Debutante Stakes at her first start for Lee Freedman.

The Beaudesert meeting yesterday fell victim of the southeast’s stormy weather with rain on Sunday leaving the track unfit for racing.
