‘QUIET’ STREET IN SHOCK AT KILLING

- AMANDA ROBBEMOND amanda.robbemond@news.com.au

RESIDENTS of the Southport street where a man died yesterday morning say their neighbourhood is a private area, where people keep to themselves.

“I’ve lived here 13 years and I just know my next door neighbour,” said Waverley Street resident Cecil Radlow.

Daniel Franey, who lives next door to Ms Lawrence, said he had lived on the street for more than a year. He did not know his neighbours.

“There’s a Kiwi lady with her son and about two other people live there,” he said.

“I don’t know what happened and I was up pretty late.

“There’s always some commotion here in Southport, but not from here.”

Neighbour Ketki Phagat said Ms Lawrence and her family had only recently moved in.

“It’s quite silent here. There’s many good people living here at the property.”

Resident Glen Bennett said: “I work in the building industry ... they just sold this property to a developer.”

The property sold as part of a multi-sale deal for $1.75m to company Oracle GC1 in January 2015.

A development application has been lodged to build an eight-storey apartment complex with 50 units.
