ARIES MAR 21 – APR 20

People commute to work all over the world. They make the same journey to the same place day in and day out. Even folk who don’t have to make such regular journeys to and fro retrace their steps. Psychologically, as well as physically, we seem to find it helpful to go back over the same old ground. So does 2018 bring you a familiar trip around the same block? Or an adventure into a new experience? As your ruler and Jupiter prepare to meet this weekend – life certainly gets more interesting.

This weekend, Mars and Jupiter will converge in Scorpio for the first time since 1982. Although these planets connect every other year, for 35 years they’ve conspired to avoid forming an exact conjunction in the eighth sign of the zodiac. And with Mars’ influence so strong in his own sign, the growth Jupiter inspires might shock us into action. There’s no need to be anxious. It’s just the beginning of an epic adventure.

Hordes of revellers started the new year in style as they converged on The Star’s many attractions

NEW YEAR’S EVE CELEBRATIONS The Star Gold Coast, Broadbeach

THE many, many thousands who turned up at The Star Gold Coast to ring in the new year were literally spoiled for choice. The plethora of new bars and eateries which have opened of late means the options for those on the island have increased dramatically. Add into the mix a parade of travelling entertainers, a variety of musical options and, of course, the chance to see if your luck has changed in 2018. It was not so long ago that the medical profession advocated smoking as a way of relieving stress. Concepts that seem unthinkable to us were normal not so long ago. Likewise, some of our current lifestyle habits will seem ridiculous in the future. As with social norms so it is with our own practices. You’re right to think that an old way of thinking is irrelevant and inappropriate. Though it may be tempting to carry on just because you’re used to it, it’s timely and right for a change of plan.
