Big list of entries on undercard

A TOTAL of 239 nominations were received yesterday for the seven support races on the $10 million Magic Millions day, with Group 1 winners Lucky Hussler, Viddora and Global Glamour among the well credentialed performers.

This is in addition to the original 266 nominations for the 2YO Classic and 220 for the 3YO Guineas.

Connections have indicated Lucky Hussler is likely to make a third attempt on the Magic Millions Cup, having won in 2016 and finished seventh as the $3 favourite last year.

His trainer Darren Weir, who also won the Guineas with Mahuta in 2016, has Nikitas and Ozi Choice nominated alongside Lucky Hussler in the Cup, in addition to He’s A Moral in the Country Cup.

Viddora, a last-start winner of the Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes in Perth, arrived in Queensland late last week and is nominated for both Magic Millions The Snippets (1200m) and Fillies & Mares (1300m) races.

These are also the two races for which Global Glamour has been entered.

Global Glamour’s stablemate Dinnigan would be nominal favourite for the Maiden but, as it stood last night, she’s right on the cusp of gaining a start in the $2 million Guineas.

The Maiden is worth $150,000 to the winner.
