All Star hangs up his helmet

ARIZONA Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer, who won the Heisman Trophy in 2002, announced his retirement yesterday after 15 seasons in the National Football League.

The 38-year-old and 2003 No.1 draft pick was named to the Pro Bowl all-star game three times, but his 2017 season was cut short by a broken arm that limited him to seven games.

Palmer spent his first eight seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals before being traded to the Oakland Raiders and finishing with the Cardinals.
