The shocking video of a dog being kicked and choked at Palm Beach elicited a huge response from concerned readers. Below are just a small number of the comments.

Kylie Mansfield: This is exactly the reason why these poor animals end up biting people. Treated like rubbish by dead beats like this. Then the poor dog gets punished for it! Just proves once again it’s not the animals it’s the owners.

A big thank you to the person who brought this to everyone’s attention. Without you letting everyone know, this would have been swept under the mat.

Poor little dog! I can only imagine what happens to it at home if this is how he treats it in public. Chelsea Baguley: Anger management mate. Seriously, does it make you feel tough kicking an animal that probably weighs 25kgs?

This is what happens when the dog has a higher IQ than the owner.

Dogs are like little kids. Would you punch and kick a kid because they were excited to get out the back of a stinking hot ute at the beach?

They should put the ahole on a leash and give him a good yank by the neck. He’d never do it again! Deanne Phillips: If this is how you want to treat your dog then don’t have one, give the dog to a family who will love it.

This is actually a good example of how physical violence has little effect when training a dog. If you’re ever frustrated with your dog please take yourself away from him/ her until you calm down, dogs learn much more through positive reinforcement techniques and happy loving owners.

Let’s hope the other dog has a chew on him in his sleep.
