ABC TV has removed The Doctor Blake Mysteries from its iview service, citing “allegation­s against principal cast member Craig McLachlan and a related police investigat­ion”.

But the national broadcaste­r is still featuring jailed paedophile pop star Gary Glitter on a music video program.

Glitter, now serving time in a British jail after child sex crimes, was seen as part of Rage Goes Retro month, which airs old episodes of Countdown.

Asked about scrapping Doctor Blake, but keeping Gary Glitter, an ABC spokesman said there was no strict policy for retrospect­ively editing out performers. “The ABC would consider such measures on a case-by-case basis,” he said.

McLachlan, who stars in The Doctor Blake Mysteries,

has been accused of sexual assault, harassment and bullying by three actors – Christie Whelan Browne, Amanda Scundi and Erika Heynatz – who starred alongside him in a 2014 stage production of the Rocky Horror Show.

Two more former crew members, a woman and a man, went to police yesterday.

Victoria Police has it is investigat­ing.

McLachlan, who has strenuousl­y denied any wrongdoing, left the 2018 production of The Rocky Horror Show on Monday. He was replaced by understudy Adam Rennie in Adelaide last night.

Meanwhile, Film Victoria is in crisis talks with Doctor Blake confirmed CRAIG McLachlan’s replacemen­t for next week’s Brisbane season of The Rocky Horror Show remains unknown after he stepped down in the wake of the sex scandal. A decision on whether patrons who paid up to $164.90 to see McLachlan as Frank-N-Furter will get their money back has not been made. Late yesterday, QPAC was still in discussion­s with the show’s producers, the Gordon Frost Organisati­on. Understudy Adam Rennie has replaced McLachlan in Adelaide but it is not clear if he will play the role in Brisbane.

A spokeswoma­n for Film Victoria, which has partially funded past series of the Australian crime drama, said yesterday: “Film Victoria has been in contact with December Media, who have informed us that they will be investigat­ing the matter to ensure the wellbeing of their employees and contractor­s on The Doctor Blake Mysteries.”

December Media has temporaril­y suspended production on the show in light of the police investigat­ion.

Channel 10 also released a statement about McLachlan, who starred alongside Whelan Browne, in The Wrong Girl and hit soap Neighbours.

“Network Ten has not received any complaints about Craig McLachlan’s behaviour in The Wrong Girl or in any other programs,” it said.
