BATON’S ISLAND TRIP

SINCE gracing the Gold Coast at Magic Millions yesterday, the Queen’s Baton will today land at Palm Island about 65km northwest of Townsville.

It will herald the first of the community’s 2018 centenary commemorations led by Palm Island local Ikanau Conway as a Baton Bearer. The young Bwgcolman athlete is a representative of the Queensland Budgies and Australian Indigenous schoolgirls netball teams.

The Queen’s Baton will return to Springbrook National Park and Sky Point on Friday before heading to Uluru.
