Roads have become a war zone between cyclists and drivers, claiming lives and costing the economy $150 million a year, says the Bicycle Queensland boss.

Rob Hayward Common sense from both vehicles and cyclist will end this madness. Cyclists ... stop riding in an inconsiderate manner and motorists stop passing close to cyclists and risking serious injury or death! Why is that (both options) so difficult?

James Buchanan Watched a group of them run a red light 4 or 5 abreast at Runaway Bay.

Pauley Mark Here’s an idea ... stop spending taxpayers money and stop giving them more road space and rights, while limiting the space for those the roads were actually made for.

Reg Hasell I commute on a bike (Yes I have 2 cars and pay rego as well). There is only one section where I turn right at a roundabout and have to merge with the traffic. I find 99.9% of the motorists very obliging.

Peter Davis Why do cyclists have more rights then guys who ride motorbikes riders pay registration and insurance and have a license.

Renata Schmittmann The roads on the Gold Coast are far too heavily congested to share, they should be banned.

David Weston I haven’t ridden a bike for many years and I decided to buy a bike and cycle again. On my first trip I was terrified, I was well within the cycle lane and some cars deliberately come as close as they can, so got rid of bike.
