FISHING

-

Broadwater: A heap of sand crabs in the main Broadwater. Schools of frogmouth pilchards and little white pilchards coming through. Trevally and a big school of finny scad that you can chase on light gear. Also tailor, and little queenfish around Sovereign Islands.

Jumpinpin: Tailor and plenty of good size jewies.

Offshore: Plenty of black marlin between 20-80m, look for the bait, the pilchards, northeast of The Seaway. Blue marlin out on the shelf, plus dolphin fish, wahoo, and even some yellow fish tuna. Spanish mackerel out on the Burleigh Gravel Patch.

Freshwater: Hinze Dam fishing okay, very early. Saratoga and bass on the surface and use spinner baits and vibes later in the day. Whiting in the Nerang River – better quality at night.
