‘No memory’ of accuser’s allegations
THE managing director in charge of The Rocky Horror Show has disputed claims he discussed allegations against Craig McLachlan after a show in 2014.
The Gordon Frost Organisation boss John Frost released a statement last night saying he could not remember discussing sexual harassment allegations with actor Christie Whelan.
“I’d also like to say to Christie, who said she spoke to me personally backstage and told me that she was frightened of Craig, that I can honestly say while I remember seeing her briefly, I cannot remember any discussion around Craig,” he wrote in the statement.
“I can only explain this by pointing out that I speak to many people backstage across many productions and have little time to spend with each person.”
Mr Frost said the allegations were “concerning and distressing” and promised to create a better working culture.
“Sexual harassment is not a joke, but our company can only deal with issues if we are told about them,” he wrote.
“However, we can and we will strive to do better.”
