VENTURE INTO THE VALLEY

-

TALLY ho!

For true adventure, there’s nowhere better than the Tally Valley … aka Tallebudgera Valley.

Start your exploration with a relaxing dip at the Araluen swimming hole. Tucked in the foothills of Springbrook National Park and close to the corner of Araluen Road and Tallebudgera Creek Road, you’ll find a fresh water hole for splashing, a rope swing for airborne fun, and a grassy field for picnicking.

This scenic little pot of gold is somewhat of a secret between locals, but it’s really not fair they keep it all to themselves.

But that cool dip is just a warm-up for what awaits you at the end of the road - Tallebudgera Creek Road, that is. Drive to the very end of this scenic street, park near the gate and follow the track.

Travel over two pretty creek crossings and when you come to the third, head directly upstream following the waterway.

What follows is about 20 to 30 minutes of rock hopping – a fun exercise if ever there was one. But take care as you never know when you might hit a mossy spot.

When you reach a fork in the creek, take the left form and a few hundred metres more upstream you will find Gorge Falls.

Descending down the cliffside and through the mouth of a cave into an emerald pool perfect to cool off yet again, the real fun is not at the bottom of the waterfall but the top.

A rope dangling down the cliff face allows intrepid adventurers to rock climb up the lower falls where you can sit back and soak in the view of the valley.
