KIT FITTING SAYS IT ALL REALLY IS TAKING PLACE
ONE of the most highlyanticipated milestones for our volunteers and staff was reached this week with the GC2018 Uniform and Accreditation Centre operationalised.
The centre at West Burleigh is where more than 15,000 Games Shapers will be fitted with their uniform and receive their Gamestime accreditation over the coming weeks.
Fifty uniform and accreditation volunteers have started their roles with hundreds of GOLDOC workforce among the first to be processed with their eye-catching Hard Yakka kit.
I know from experience that receiving accreditation and being fitted out for the clothing is one of the most exciting parts of any Games preparation.
It is one of the first processes that says the Games are about to happen.
You may have noticed over the past few weeks, the focus turning from our seven years of detailed planning and bricks and mortar preparations to sport.
As individuals and teams contest national selection and names are announced, you can feel a lot of the white noise drop away and attention, quite rightly, landing at the feet of the athletes.
