Mian turns developer with Paradise Point home plan

- QUENTIN TOD

ALI Mian, who for 15 years has been selling some of the Gold Coast’s most palatial homes, is taking a new top-shelf path — as a developer.

The principal of the four-office Ray White Runaway Bay business is to build 10 luxury homes on the doorstep of The Sovereign Islands.

The homes, on a Salacia Waters site on a point fronting the confluence of the Coomera River and the Broadwater, are expected to start at around $2.5 million and go to the high $2 million mark.

Mr Mian, 42, said the $27 million project would capitalise on his experience with buyers of big-ticket homes and their requirements and wishlists. Items on those ‘lists’ that the realtor intends to deliver include oodles of storage space, a separate lift for every boat home, and lots of stone, timber, light, and cross ventilation.

Last year Mr Mian paid Salacia Waters developer Lotte $2.5 million for the 1669sq m site. He has worked with the design team at Surfers Paradise practice Archidiom to bring his ideas to reality and, with development approval already gained, hopes to start building in March.

Mr Mian said his three-level homes would span from 425 to 499sq m.

Each home would have at least three ensuite bedrooms, powder rooms, study nook, multiple balconies, and its own inside-outside rooftop entertaining area with spa, wine storage, teppanyaki grill, and even a vegetable plot. Master bedrooms would have large his and hers walk-in dressing rooms.

“The buyers I have in mind don’t want to live in something that looks like a concrete slab — they want a bit of character,” said Mr Mian.

Buyers of the homes will have the option of buying marina berths. They also will be able to use the Salacia Waters facilities.
