THORPE TO TREAD NEW GROUND IN SIN CITY

-

COURTNEY Thorpe will walk in Las Vegas Fashion Week for the first time while wearing Queensland label Blacknbling.

The former Miss World Australia beauty is preparing to jet to the US on Saturday morning to spend eight days working in Sin City after signing on as an ambassador for the local clothing, accessories and footwear brand last week.

“I have never even been to Vegas so what better way to see it for the first time than being involved in Fashion Week?,” the Gold Coaster said.

“I’ve been lucky enough to go to Fashion Weeks all around the world including Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Dubai, London and Paris so I can’t wait to see how it compares.” Thorpe said she “jumped at” the chance to work with Blacknbling because it accommodated women of every shape, size and age.

“It’s for everyone and that’s a refreshing change,” she said. “I’ve been in the fashion industry most of my life and it’s great to see the message that you don’t have to be a sample size to look good in clothing.” Thorpe, who is also hosting the Brisbane David Jones Autumn Winter fashion launch on Friday night, said she had a big year coming up and was learning to juggle work and a serious relationship for the first time.

The model and presenter, who is currently dating Gold Coast Titans forward Jarrod Wallace, said she was missing the couple’s first Valentine’s Day together for Vegas.

“We’ve tried to plan a belated one (Valentine’s) but our schedules have picked up so much we can’t even find the time,” she said.

“But it’s going really well – we are really happy.”

Thorpe has also formed a strong bond with Wallace’s two young daughters from a previous relationship, Lara and Peyton.

“The moment I met them I just loved them,” she said.

“It’s so nice to be part of their lives they’re my two little best friends.”
