United ring changes in form hunt

- TERRY WILSON

GOLD Coast United have been forced to make at least two changes to their line-up for a National Premier Leagues engagement tonight.

Suspensions to Brandon Reeves and Nick Panetta – both one-week terms after they were sent off against Brisbane Roar Youth last weekend – means the playing roster has had to change.

United are heading up the M1 to play Redlands United in a match at the Cleveland Showgrounds, starting at 7pm.

The red-cards shown to Reeves and Panetta topped a bad night for United against the Roar, eventually losing 2-0 after a good start the previous weekend against Cairns.

Coach Sean Lane said former Magic United star Tyler Wagstaffe will return to the starting line-up after missing last weekend with injury.

“The second change to the starting side will be either Max Fitzgerald or Josh Mussell, depending on what structure we go in with,” Lane said. “And we have Alistair Davis coming into the squad.”

Lane said it is far too early to take too much notice of Redlands’s form which reads a 4-4 draw with South West Queensland and a 2-6 loss to Moreton Bay before that.

Meanwhile, United’s women are playing Lions FC at Richlands at 6pm on Saturday and Mudgeeraba host Souths United at Sid Bigg Park at 3pm on Sunday.
