WINNERS

■ Warface (Race 1)

All the money came for Jets Cracker late ($2.20 into $1.95), but Warface was able to lead from start to finish to record an impressive win. He never looked like being run down and he was holding both Jets Cracker and Old Trieste on the line.

■ Reindeer Moon (Race 5) Helen Page could have another promising horse on her hands. Reindeer Moon was able to comfortably take up the running in the early stages and the way that she lengthened when asked for an extra effort was most impressive. It would not surprise to see her string together some wins.

■ Brad Be Bold (Race 6)

The betting always suggested that Brad Be Bold would be tough to beat on debut and that proved to be the case. It took him a while to wind up, but his final 100 metres was excellent and he will be even better suited when he steps-up in trip.

LOSERS

■ Diamonds On Ruby (Race 2) Diamonds On Ruby ($2.70 into $2.45) was the only horse that punters wanted but she was under pressure a long way from home. There is no doubt she will benefit from that run but it was still a disappointing effort.

■ Star Of Pompeii (Race 4) Punters who backed Star Of Pompeii from $4.50 into $3 did their dough quickly. He missed the start badly and hung out throughout the race. He has recorded one race win from his 15 starts and has become a difficult horse to trust.

NEXT TIME

■ Shoreline (Race 3)

Was denied by the extremely well-backed Awake The Stars by the smallest possible margin. They gapped the rest of the field and this race looks set to be a fairly strong form reference.

■ All Gifts (Race 6)

Did all the hard work in the early stages of this race and it could a fairly impressive performance from Brad Be Bold to run him down. He will come on from that run and he will be tough to beat in a similar grade next start.
