Draw puts Crows on no-error margin

-

ADELAIDE coach Bec Goddard says her team has to win all of their remaining matches, after the defending AFLW champions fought back to earn a draw against Greater Western Sydney yesterday.

Both teams battled hard in teeming rain in Sydney where the Crows trailed for most of the game before salvaging a 2.7 (19) to 2.7 (19) draw.

Both clubs sit six points outside the top two with three rounds to go.

“You’ve just got to try to win them all,” Goddard said of her team’s position.

“It feels like a loss, because we really had the opportunity I think and the girls are really disappointed.”

Her frustration was shared by GWS coach Alan McConnell.

“It’s not a great outcome for either team. It makes life pretty difficult,” McConnell said.

“I’m pretty frustrated; I thought we were the better team but when you have 10 minutes as poor as our first 10 in the last quarter, you pay the price.”

The Bulldogs rocketed to the top of the ladder with their lopsided 86-13 win over Carlton with an percentage of 200.

Last year’s beaten grand finalists Brisbane are in second spot on percentage after they slogged their way to a sevenpoint win against Fremantle.

The Lions prevailed 3.4 (22) to 2.3 (15) in front of 1500 fans at a drenched South Pine Sports Complex at Brendale on Saturday. imposing
