Serial pest back on the prowl

-

DAN Shearin – the Gold Coast serial text pest whose dating profile should come with a warning to women, a magistrate once said – is back looking for love online.

Shearin’s profile has emerged on an internet dating site amid a fresh police investigation into the high-rise death of his cheerleader girlfriend.

The former cruise ship entertainer was the boyfriend of young Gold Coast Titans cheerleader Breeana Robinson, who plunged to her death from the couple’s Southport apartment in 2013. Late last year, the Queensland Coroner sensationally postponed a planned inquest into her death and asked police to reopen the case.

In 2016, Shearin, 45, was sentenced to jail for menacing and harassing 21-year-old Ms Robinson with vile texts.

The sentence was later reduced to a 15-month good behaviour bond on appeal.

It was one of several examples of Shearin engaging in vile behaviour towards women, with four ending up before the courts. In one case, a Southport magistrate famously remarked that he should come with a warning for women, “the same as cigarette packaging”.

Despite his reputation, Shearin is still trawling the internet for women. His profile appeared recently on dating site Zoosk. It contains a picture of Shearin during an onstage performance, using the same suburb and star sign as the former cruise ship entertainer.

He boasts of an physique and shaves years from his age.

In December, The Bulletin revealed the Coroner had postponed an inquest into Ms Robinson’s death and asked police to examine explosive new medical evidence.

Lawyer, Mark Donnelly, said Shearin was co-operating with investigators and ‘would like closure for everybody’s sake … so everybody can move on’.

Sunday Night claimed that as CPR was being performed on Ms Robinson, Shearin said he was thirsty and was going to get a drink, a claim he denied. athletic off four
