’Ice in anus’ man bailed
A CURRUMBIN man allegedly found with 16g of ice hidden in a plastic bag in his rectum has been granted bail.
Conrad Burton was allegedly found with the drug “secreted in his anus” during a routine traffic stop on the Gold Coast Hwy in Miami last month.
Burton was originally denied bail last month in the Southport Magistrates Court where he faces multiple charges including possession of dangerous drugs, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and possessing stolen property.
He reapplied for bail yesterday after his girlfriend offered $20,000 in surety.
Police will allege they found the drug after they noticed something sticking out between his buttocks.
Bail conditions imposed include reporting to police twice a week, a curfew between 8pm and 6am, regular drug testing and a condition to reside at a place in Currumbin Waters. Mr McMillan said Burton had also found work. The matter will return to court on May 1.
