Physios feeling the heat
AUSTRALIAN athletes are not the only ones who will be feeling the pressure at the Commonwealth Games.
One of more than 25 elite Australian sports physiotherapists at the Games, Michael Reynolds will be working at the Athlete Village Polyclinic, a multidisciplinary clinic delivering 24-hour injury and musculoskeletal assessment, diagnosis and treatment services. Reynolds, who is chairman of the Australian Physiotherapy Association’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Committee and head physio at Sydney’s Northern Tigers Football Club, and his colleagues will be particularly valuable to Games teams who do not have the capacity to bring their own support staff.
