Whitelaw clear to play
TWEED Heads have had a welcome win off the field, clearing skipper Cheyne Whitelaw to take on Wynnum Manly on Saturday.
Whitelaw was originally hit with a dangerous contact charge from the side’s loss to Townsville, which would have sidelined him for one game.
Tweed challenged the verdict but were later able to take an early guilty plea and still have their star lock not miss a match after coach Ben Woolf successfully argued that the charge should be changed to a careless high tackle.
They will, however, be without rookie half Ethan Roberts, who accepted a one-match ban for a shoulder charge.
