HOLLYWOOD CELEBS FUELLING A FASHION NATION

- PEYTON HUTCHINS

SARAH Richards began handmaking clothes for her sons because she did not like what was on the racks in shops.

Today, her niche boutique JNR Nation brand is adored by the likes of Curtis Stone, Amy Shark and Ashton Kutcher.

Five weeks ago, Ms Richards, who makes the clothes from a shipping container in Miami, was in Los Angeles showcasing JNR Nation to A-list superstars.

The meeting came after she sent items to the director of the Academy Awards gifting suite.

“I was fortunate enough to have my boutique at the awards suite and spent the whole day with a film crew interviewing NFL and NBA stars,” Ms Richards said.

“It’s incredible to have so much support from all different people all over the world.

“We sent clothes to Ashton Kutcher and he was obsessed with him.”

American actress Mackenzie Hancsicsak has had an entire outfit created by JNR Nation for the Shorty awards.

Ms Richards is on maternity leave but has been a teacher at Miami High School for 10 years.

“The business is taking off so much that I’m now facing the decision of what to do, keep teaching or focus solely on JNR Nation.

“It’s sort of exciting because I never thought I would have that as a problem. I have people flying from New Zealand just to visit the shipping container store and have big plans for the future of JNR Nation.”
