Athletes still on the run
POLICE are yet to receive any official missing persons reports as the countdown continues for more than a dozen international athletes who fled the athletes village during the Commonwealth Games.
Eight athletes from Cameroon, as well as competitors from Uganda, Rwanda and Sierra Leone remain on the run after abandoning their teams during, but technically they have not broken any laws until their visas expire on May 15.
Until that time, police and Australian Border Force officers will not act unless there is a missing persons report.
As of yesterday, no missing persons reports had been filed.
It is thought some of the missing athletes intend to seek asylum in Australia.
